Farah joined QCIF in early 2019 to help provide biostatistics support to QCIF Members and partners. In particular, Farah helps deliver biostatistics clinics for CHQ, USC, the University of Queensland's Faculty of Medicine, and Metro South Hospital and Health Service.
Farah is a physician by training with a background in clinical practice and healthcare management and holds a PhD from UQ's Faculty of Medicine, and a Master’s degree in Healthcare Management from the Royal College of Surgeons (Ireland).
Her thesis focused on examining the relationship between obesity and mortality in individuals with Type 2 diabetes and hypertension. The models developed during her PhD provided evidence needed to convince policymakers to develop conscientious weight management guidelines for individuals with chronic conditions.
Her expertise is in the fields of data science, epidemiology and public health.
