QCIF PROJECTS
Sach Jayasinghe joined QCIF Ltd as Chief Executive Officer in 2022, following a series of academic and leadership roles in the research infrastructure sector. He brings extensive experience in strategic planning, collaboration, and innovation across both higher education and industry settings.
He holds two adjunct academic appointments. As Adjunct Professor (Research Infrastructure) at The University of Queensland, Sach works closely with partners to strengthen Queensland’s research infrastructure in support of emerging industries such as synthetic biology, clean energy, and quantum technologies. At Queensland University of Technology (QUT), he serves as Associate (Research Infrastructure) and was recently appointed Industry Fellow in the Faculty of Science, School of Computer Science. In these roles, he contributes to major state and national research and innovation programs, helping bridge the gap between cutting-edge research and real-world application through collaborative projects, mentoring and industry engagement. He is also Executive Director of the Academy for Collaborative Research Infrastructure (ACRI), an independent non-for-profit organisation established to serve the research infrastructure community.
Before joining QCIF, Sach was Director of Research Infrastructure at QUT, where he provided strategic oversight of the university’s infrastructure operations and represented QUT in national and state-level initiatives. Prior to that, he held several roles at the University of Melbourne, where he led strategic investment in research and infrastructure and developed policies to support the effective use of shared facilities, recognising the importance of technical expertise in their success.
He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Outside of work, Sach enjoys watching his team, Liverpool FC, compete in the Premier League and listening to music with a cup of coffee on lazy Sunday afternoons.
