QCIF PROJECTS
Riad joined QCIF in May 2025 as a Senior eResearch Analyst after three and a half years of working as a postdoctoral research fellow at Griffith University. His research in Computational Biomechanics was focused on longitudinal joint contact force effects of ACL reconstruction surgery, muscle-tendon level effects of Basketball game-play, and deep-learning based classification of EMG signals.
He obtained his PhD in Computational Biomechanics from The University of Newcastle (Australia), his Masters in Biomechanical Engineering from Justus Liebig University (Germany), and his Bachelors in Biomedical Engineering from Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (Germany).
Riad is interested in designing and implementing computational pipelines/tools to advance our understanding of sport performance and injury avoidance. He is passionate about helping students and researchers with their programming, HPC, data visualisation, and statistical needs.
In his spare time, Riad likes repairing/restoring retro video game consoles, bouldering, and going to rock/metal concerts.
