Farah is a data scientist with more than 15 years’ experience of working in health care and life science. She is currently working as a Head of Statistics and Principal Data Scientist at the consulting branch of QCIF - QCIF Bioinformatics - a not-for-profit public company providing customised data analytics solutions to life science and clinical researchers.

Farah joined QCIF in early 2019 to help provide biostatistics support to collaborators and clients in delivering real world impact. Farah is a physician by training with a background in clinical practice and healthcare management. She holds a PhD from UQ’s Faculty of Medicine, and a Master’s degree in Healthcare Management from the Royal College of Surgeons (Ireland).

Her thesis focused on examining the relationship between obesity and mortality in individuals with Type 2 Diabetes and Hypertension.

The models developed during her PhD provided evidence needed to convince policymakers to develop conscientious weight management guidelines for individuals with chronic conditions.
