Skills:
QCIF PROJECTS
Fereshteh joined QCIF in January 2026 as a Full Stack Software Developer, bringing extensive PhD and postdoctoral experience in artificial intelligence, computer vision, and deep learning.
She earned her PhD from Griffith University in 2020, where she applied AI techniques to detect and analyse structural cracks in bridges and roads in collaboration with the Civil Engineering research group. Following her PhD, she contributed to a pilot study using AI to monitor koala behaviour and reduce wildlife–vehicle collisions and later led a project at CQUniversity with the Department of Transport and Main Roads to develop a video-based system to improve road safety.
Prior to joining QCIF, Fereshteh spent three years at CSIRO applying advanced AI methods for image and video analysis to address plastic pollution in marine environments.
Her professional interests lie at the intersection of AI, deep learning, and full-stack software development, with a strong focus on building end-to-end, user-friendly systems that translate advanced AI into practical applications.
She is also an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA), an internationally recognised accreditation awarded through Griffith University, reflecting her commitment to high-quality teaching and learning support.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her cats and exploring creative pursuits such as woodworking and baking.
