QCIF PROJECTS

Dr Alireza Yahyaiee Bavil joined QCIF in May 2026 as a casual trainer, bringing experience as a Research Fellow at Griffith University and as a research associate across collaborative projects with clinical, academic, and industry partners. His work focuses on orthopaedic biomechanics, computational modelling, digital twins, and patient-specific surgical planning.

He completed his PhD in Biomedical Engineering at Griffith University, where his thesis examined the optimisation of proximal femoral osteotomy parameters using musculoskeletal modelling and finite element analysis. He also holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Biomedical Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology, with a strong foundation in biomechanics, finite element methods, and medical device design.

Alireza is interested in developing practical computational pipelines that help translate complex biomechanical data into useful research and clinical insights. He is passionate about teaching, programming in MATLAB and Python, data visualisation, 3D modelling, and making technical concepts accessible to students and researchers from diverse backgrounds.

Outside research and teaching, Alireza enjoys playing piano, creative problem-solving, and turning overly complicated technical problems into something people can actually use.
