Sarah has been a senior bioinformatician with QCIF since 2021, where she works closely with Australian Biocommons and the Central Facility for Genomics at Griffith University. She has over 10 years of experience in bioinformatics consulting, having previously worked with the Monash bioinformatics platform at Monash University, QFAB (Queensland Facility for Advanced Bioinformatics) and AGRF (Australian Genome Research Facility).
She completed her PhD in computational biology with UQ in 2017, examining microRNA targeting networks in autism. She studied both information technology and biotechnology at the undergraduate level, with a masters in molecular biology.
Sarah enjoys the dynamic challenges of working with researchers on diverse projects, and keeping up to date with the latest technological developments. She has particular experience working with spatial and single cell transcriptomics data. She is active in bioinformatics skills training and making methods open and accessible to researchers.
