QCIF PROJECTS
Keeva joined QCIF in mid-2022 as a scientific business analyst for the Australian BioCommons. She works primarily on two projects, the Australian Reference Genome Atlas (ARGA), an online indexing platform to improve genomic data discovery for eukaryotic species in Australia, and the Australian Tree of Life (AToL) infrastructure capability, developing semi-automated pipelines for genome assembly and annotation for diverse taxonomic groups. She is interested in how genomic data and their metadata can be described, harmonised and structured to better facilitate discovery and reuse at scale.
Before joining QCIF, Keeva studied a Bachelor of Genetics at the Australian National University in Canberra. After graduating, she worked in biosecurity policy with the Australian Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment, assessing risks of potential pests and diseases associated with agricultural commodities. In her spare time, Keeva enjoys embroidery and being in the sunshine.
