Jenna joined QCIF in 2024 and is the Head of the Sustainable Futures Department and Principal Data Scientist. She leads the development of digital research infrastructure in conservation, climate, and biodiversity, contributing to national-scale initiatives such as EcoCommons and the Wildlife Observatory of Australia. Before QCIF, she was a Research Fellow at the Australian Rivers Institute, where she worked with the Murray–Darling Basin Authority and CSIRO on conservation prioritisation. She has also managed outreach and training for the Atlas of Living Australia at CSIRO and led the scientific development of the EcoCommons platform.
Jenna holds a PhD in Conservation Ecology from Griffith University, a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Wildlife Biology from Deakin University, and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Biology from Griffith University. She also completed The Carpentries Instructor Training Program in 2021 and is part of the global leadership initiative Homeward Bound, Cohort 10.
Her expertise includes species distribution modelling, biodiversity monitoring, and conservation prioritisation. She is passionate about conservation and about empowering researchers, practitioners, and decision-makers by building accessible and scalable digital infrastructure that supports evidence-based action.
Beyond work, Jenna enjoys hiking, running, crafternoons, and slowly converting her 1950s church into a unique home.
