QCIF PROJECTS
Chen joined QCIF in 2025 as an eResearch Analyst, following her role as a PhD researcher at The University of Queensland, where she focused on bacterial genomics and comparative microbiology. Her doctoral research investigated genomic epidemiology, antimicrobial resistance, and virulence factors in livestock-associated pathogens.
During her studies, she developed strong expertise in molecular microbiology, sequencing technologies (Illumina and Nanopore), and bioinformatics approaches using HPC platforms and R.
She is particularly interested in helping researchers build digital skills and adopt tools more effectively. She is passionate about supporting genomics and bioinformatics workflows, and also delivers training in HPC, R, and Python.
Outside of work, she can often be found in the pool, underwater, or tending to her garden.
