After working in laboratory administration and property tax depreciation, Claire obtained a Bachelor of Biotechnology from the University of Queensland. Her studies focussed on synthetic biology and bioinformatics, including a research scholarship project that applied machine learning models to the investigation of virus-antibody interactions.

Claire is currently pursuing instructor certification with The Carpentries community, dedicated to teaching foundational coding and data science skills to researchers. She is passionate about the accessibility of research computing for Australian researchers and is involved in the Women in High Performance Computing Australasia community.

Claire enjoys spotting the little things, like nudibranchs while scuba diving or lichen on a hike.
