As data science skills become vital across an increasing range of research fields, QCIF’s Skills Development team supports researchers at all levels through expert guidance and hands-on training.

We offer nearly 40 practical workshops for QCIF members, providing frequent and accessible training in high-demand topics such as programming, statistics, AI/machine learning, data management, and bioinformatics. In partnership with Instats, we also deliver specialised seminars and consulting for researchers and practitioners in government, industry, and non-member universities - extending our expertise beyond the QCIF member network.

In addition to the training sessions, the QCIF Skills Development team builds communities of practice and coordinates PhD internship placement programs, creating opportunities for researchers to connect, collaborate, and apply their skills in real-world environments
