Mark Crowe, Skills Development Manager at QCIF, has been elected as a member of The Carpentries Board of Directors alongside renowned researchers and trainers from Australia, New Zealand, North America, Europe, and South America.

The Carpentries is a worldwide community of instructors, trainers, maintainers, helpers, and supporters who share a mission to teach foundational computational and data science skills to researchers.

Mark’s appointment is a testament to his leadership skills and commitment to excellence in delivering essential data and computational skills for conducting efficient, open, and reproducible research.

Mark completed his certification to become a Carpentries Instructor Trainer in 2020. Since then, he has expanded QCIF’s offerings to not just providing technical training to researchers, but also instructor training opportunities for staff from our Member universities in new disciplines such as machine learning and natural language processing.
