Research Background
This study is a clinical trial on lung cancer screening to help understand the optimal ways to implement lung cancer computed tomography (CT) screening in Australia.
This work expands upon prior work in lung cancer screening in Australia and internationally, with the current project aimed at reducing disparities in screening dissemination and implementation directed at vulnerable populations. These include First Nations people, other people at risk of developing lung cancer, and people who may not meet current eligibility criteria designed for current and former smokers.
QCIF Role
QCIF has supported the configuration of multiple REDCap projects associated with this study, each tailored to different vulnerable populations.
Research Outcome & Impact
QCIF supported the Australian Lung Screening Trial with building the REDCap database for one of the study arms. They have actioned our requests quickly and been very accessible to the study team, with prompt responses to questions and flexibility. It has been a very positive experience working with QCIF

By promoting equity in lung cancer screening and access, this research will help save lives across Australia
