QCIF and its New South Wales-based counterpart Intersect will trial a training program exchange over the next two months, which will see more workshops offered to each other’s members.
During the trial across September and October, Intersect will run the following three workshops for QCIF member researchers:
- Data Manipulation and Visualisation in R
, 15–16 September
- Surveying with Qualtrics
, 22 September,
Longitudinal Trials with REDCap
, 29 September.
These workshops will be delivered online by Intersect trainers and will each have 25 places available for researchers from UQ, QUT, Griffith, USQ, CQU and JCU.
Participants will need to fill in a short application form and successful applicants will be invited to register. Follow the links above for more details.
QCIF Skills Development Manager Mark Crowe said: “Assuming this trial project is successful, we’re hoping to extend it indefinitely as part of ongoing closer collaboration between Intersect and QCIF.”
QCIF will likewise make some of its workshops open to Intersect member researchers, including:
- Statistical Comparisons using R
, 16 October
Exploring and Predicting Using Linear Regression in R
: 22 October.
Each workshop will be delivered online by QCIF trainers and will have 25 places reserved for Intersect member researchers. Following the same registration process, participants from Intersect member universities will need to register their interest and successful applicants will be invited to register.
Intersect eResearch Training Manager Anastasios Papaioannou said: “The training program exchange is a great way for Intersect and QCIF to offer our members access to a broader range of training courses and provide researchers with more opportunities for digital research skill development.”
The QCIF and Intersect training exchange is part of a broader collaboration between the two organisations, which also includes a recent partnership to refresh Australia’s cloud computing network for research.
