We are excited to welcome Daisy to QCIF as our new software developer on the Data Science team.

In her role at QCIF, she will focus on maintaining and developing data ingress and egress processes for KeyPoint, a universal trusted research environment for sharing, accessing and analysing sensitive data.

"I am looking forward to working with Peter Marendy, Head of Data and Software Solutions, and other team members, bringing my computer science and data science knowledge and skills to transdisciplinary projects."

Daisy recently completed a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in the School of Computer Science at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). Her research focused on applying various machine learning techniques and spectral indices to analyse satellite imagery, specifically examining the 2022 eastern Australian floods.

Throughout her academic career, Daisy was an active member of the Centre of Data Science (CDS) at QUT and also served as a tutor for Python, C#, and cybersecurity courses.

Daisy has made significant contributions to her field. She has published a Q1 journal article and has presented her work at four national and international conferences. Additionally, she presented at the CDS end-of-year symposium.

Daisy received recognition for her outstanding academic performance on the Dean's List and holds a Bachelor of Information Technology in Computer Science from QUT.
