QCIF joins the Research Data Alliance (RDA) to advance open science and global data sharing

1 August 2025

QCIF is proud to announce that we have officially joined the Research Data Alliance (RDA), an international community committed to advancing open, cross-disciplinary data sharing to tackle the grand challenges of society.

Launched in 2013, the RDA brings together researchers, data professionals, technical experts, and policy makers from around the world. With a strong focus on community-driven collaboration, the RDA aims to build the social and technical infrastructure needed to reduce barriers to data sharing and promote interoperability across technologies, disciplines, and borders.

A shared vision

As QCIF continues to expand its reach beyond Queensland, our involvement in the Research Data Alliance (RDA) reflects our commitment to open data and accelerating innovation on a global scale.

Joining this international community of experts allows us to both contribute to and learn from a diverse network, particularly in areas that align with our strategic priorities, such as research data management, open science, and the adoption of the FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable), CARE (Collective benefit, Authority to control, Responsibility, and Ethics), and TRUST (Transparency, Responsibility, User focus, Sustainability, and Technology) principles.

As a long-time advocate for open data-driven research and collaboration, QCIF is proud to join this global community.

We’re excited about the opportunities this collaboration will bring and look forward to the connections, insights, and impact that will emerge.
