QCIF Digital Research Gears up to Celebrate 10 Years of ResBaz QLD

As ResBaz QLD prepares to celebrate its 10-year anniversary, QCIF Digital Research is expanding its presence at the event with new initiatives designed to connect researchers directly with specialist expertise and practical digital research support.

10 June 2026

As ResBaz QLD prepares to celebrate its 10-year anniversary, QCIF Digital Research is expanding its presence at the event with new initiatives designed to connect researchers directly with specialist expertise and practical digital research support.

For the first time, QCIF will offer short drop-in consultation sessions during conference breaks, giving attendees the opportunity to discuss research projects, analysis plans and current challenges with specialists in statistics, bioinformatics and HASS research support.

ResBaz participants will also see the launch of the new Bioinformatics Accelerator program, a structured initiative designed to guide researchers and students through bioinformatics analysis pipelines, including tools, methods and key decision-making points. The program will be available to both QCIF members and non-members.

These new initiatives reflect the growing importance of digital research infrastructure, practical skills development and interdisciplinary collaboration in today’s research environment.

10 years of building digital research skills

ResBaz, short for Research Bazaar, has become widely recognised for its hands-on approach to teaching practical digital and data skills in an inclusive and highly interactive environment.

Held from 23–25 June at the QUT Kelvin Grove Campus, ResBaz QLD 2026 is expected to attract more than 250 attendees, including early-career researchers, higher-degree research students, educators and digital research professionals from across Queensland.

Delivered in partnership with QCIF Digital Research and QUT, and supported by Griffith University, Southern Cross University, The University of Queensland and the University of the Sunshine Coast, this milestone event celebrates a decade of fostering digital capability, interdisciplinary collaboration and accessible research training.

Over the three-day program, participants will engage in workshops, discussion sessions, networking opportunities and social activities designed to support researchers from a broad range of disciplines.

This year’s conference features 48 workshops across eight themes, including Industry Engagement, Computational Skills for Health Sciences, Digital Skills for HASS, LLMs and Generative AI for Research, Research Skills, Storytelling and Data Visualisation, Ecology and Biodiversity, and Coding Skills for Research.

Marking its 10th anniversary, ResBaz QLD 2026 is shining a spotlight on the human side of research, from mentorship and ethical scholarship to meaningful collaboration and creating impact beyond academia.

To explore the full program, connect with the QCIF Digital Research team, and book a consultation session, visit the ResBaz QLD 2026 website and register for the event.

Registrations for ResBaz QLD 2026 are now open, with registrations closing on 16 June 2026.
