Mathematical Fundamentals and Reasoning (July2026)
Mon, 27 July
|Live, interactive workshop via Zoom.
Strengthen your mathematical intuition by revisiting core concepts through simple, real‑world examples.

Time & Location
27 July 2026, 9:30 am – 28 July 2026, 1:30 pm
Live, interactive workshop via Zoom.
About the event
Many of us overcame our mandatory mathematics education leaving with only a few memorised rules and much of the material forgotten. This workshop revisits the fundamentals from primary and early high school with a focus on developing our mathematical intuition. We use real world and geometric examples to re-explain the basic concepts around numbers, arithmetic, fractions, and algebra. By strengthening these fundamentals, we will create a pathway to develop our mathematical capabilities, be better equipped to interpret analyses, and engage more confidently with the quantitative elements of our research.
This workshop runs over two mornings, Monday 27th July, 2026 and Tuesday 28th July, 2026 from 9:30am - 1:30pm each day.
Please only register if you can commit to attending both days.
Learning Objectives:
After this workshop participants will be able to:
Recognise different kinds of numbers and identify situations where each type is appropriately used
