About the event
This workshop is running as part of a collaboration with Australian BioCommons as part of the Bioinformatics Training Cooperative.
This workshop introduces next generation sequencing (NGS) technologies and the fundamental bioinformatics analysis involved in modern sequencing analysis. Practical exercises focus on a typical bioinformatics workflow for NGS data, including hands-on exercises in quality control and read mapping. Participants will develop an understanding of standard file formats, quality score encoding and common bioinformatics tools. Prior experience using Galaxy or completion of the 'Introduction to Galaxy' workshop is recommended.
This workshop runs over two half days from 1:00pm to 5:00pm (AEST), Wednesday 15 July and Thursday 16 July, 2026.
Please only register if you can commit to attending both days.
