Skills

Sebastian brings with him a wealth of experience in data science applied to environmental monitoring. In his previous role, he led and developed FishID - Griffith University, an innovative Australian Research Data Commons platform enabling aquatic researchers to identify, count, and size aquatic flora and fauna from digital imagery. Prior to this, Sebastian administered the largest database of coral reef images processed with Artificial Intelligence during his work with the Global Change Institute - XL Catlin Seaview Survey.


In his new capacity as Principal Data Scientist, Sebastian will provide strategic leadership to platforms such as EcoCommons and AAGI, focusing on sustainable futures. Leveraging his extensive background in data science for environmental applications, Sebastian will significantly enhance QCIF's impact in the fields of agriculture, climate, and environment.
