Bond University has joined QCIF as an Associate Member.
The Queensland university, with a main campus in Robina, Gold Coast, officially became a QCIF Associate Member on 1 September.
QCIF now has all the Queensland universities as Members, including the following as full Members: The University of Queensland, Griffith University, Queensland University of Technology, University of
Southern Queensland, James Cook University, CQUniversity and USC.
Associate Membership provides Bond University research staff and HDR students with unlimited access to QCIF’s cloud and high-performance computer services; discounted rates for QCIF’s data storage, bioinformatics, digital skills training, and software development services; and access to QCIF’s eResearch Analysts.
Bond’s Director of Research Services, Andrew Calder, said the university is pleased to join the QCIF community.
“Our QCIF Membership will support a broad range of projects from big data forensics to medical imaging analysis. There is keen interest from Bond academics and HDR students who are looking forward to working with the QCIF team and partner members over the coming years,” he said.
QCIF CEO John Bancroft said: “We are delighted to welcome Bond into the QCIF family and look forward to assisting them in their research activities.
“We’re very pleased and proud to now have all the Queensland universities as QCIF Members. This will give us more opportunities to promote collaborative research, and more leverage in applying for funding at the state and federal level to benefit Queensland research.”
Bond is Australia’s first private non-profit university and was founded in 1989. It currently has nine research centres, including the Centre for Data Analytics, Institute for Evidence-Based Healthcare, and the Centre for Professional Legal Education.
QCIF Associate Membership is offered on an ongoing basis with renewal every 12 months.
QCIF Membership is open to research institutions, government departments, government-owned corporations and industry involved in research.
