QRIScloud’s Denis Lujanski joins AARNet

QRIScloud Systems Engineer Denis Lujanski left the team this month to take up a national role with AARNet, the company that operates Australia's Academic and Research Network.

AARNet provides Internet services to the Australian education and research communities and their research partners. It is widely regarded as the founder of the Internet in Australia.

As an Infrastructure Engineer, Denis will work with AARNet’s cloud services team to deliver high-quality cloud storage and compute services to Australian researchers.

Denis is a University of Queensland Information Technology graduate with six years’ experience in the private sector, and more than three years’ experience working with the QRIScloud team.

In his QRIScloud role, Denis supported researchers with direct technical support and by managing QRIScloud, QCIF’s cloud compute service, and Nectar platforms.

The highlights of his time in this role were “working with cutting-edge technology alongside really hardworking, intelligent and supportive colleagues. I will truly miss my colleagues,” he said.

QCIF acting CEO Nigel Ward said Denis had made a great contribution to the QRIScloud team. “Denis was always willing to put in extra effort to advise researchers on how to optimise their QRIScloud workloads. We will miss Denis and his collaborative can-do attitude. I know he will be very valuable at AARNet. We look forward to working with him in that new capacity,” he said.

QCIF congratulates Denis on his new, national role.
