Nectar’s database service adds support for Postgres

Nectar’s database service, available on QRIScloud, has introduced the option for users to launch PostgreSQL databases, in addition to the existing option for MySQL databases.

PostgreSQL, often called Postgres, is an object-relational database management system with an emphasis on extensibility and standards compliance. MySQL is an open-source relational database management system.

The Nectar database service, which provides a simple interface to manage databases, was first announced in last month’s issue of QRISnews.

The service hides the underlying infrastructural requirements of configuring and running databases. It offers the benefit of API or web-based access for tasks like creating and restoring backups, adding and removing users and more.

More information about the database service is available on the Nectar website.
