QRIScloud and the Nectar Research Cloud clock up 1,100 and 10,000 users respectively

The Nectar Research Cloud — with QCIF as the Queensland node — passed 10,000 registered users late last month. Meanwhile, QRIScloud welcomed its 1,100 registered user recently.

Nectar tweeted the news on 21 February and said: “Many people and organisations to thank for the Research Cloud success”. It then named QCIF as well as NCI, the Pawsey Supercomputing Centre (WA node), University of Tasmania (TAS node), Intersect Australia (NSW node), eResearchSA (SA node), and the University of Melbourne and Monash University.

The Nectar Research Cloud is a partnership between eight institutions and research organisations who are deploying and operating Australia’s first federated research cloud. Read about Nectar’s research impact here.
