About the event
This workshop introduces next generation sequencing (NGS) technologies and the fundamental bioinformatics analysis involved in modern sequencing analysis. Practical exercises focus on a typical bioinformatics workflow for NGS data, including hands-on exercises in quality control and read mapping. Participants will develop an understanding of standard file formats, quality score encoding and common bioinformatics tools. Prior experience using Galaxy or completion of the 'Introduction to Galaxy' workshop is recommended.
This workshop runs over two mornings from 9:00 am to 1:00pm AEST, Monday 30th March - Tuesday 31st March. Please only register if you can commit to attending both days.
