Chantelle Pinnington, a QCIF eResearch Analyst at James Cook University, recommends a website for QGIS tutorials and tips.

Do you use QGIS, a free, open source geographic information system platform, in your research?

If so, I highly recommend checking out Ujaval Gandhi’s ‘QGIS Tutorials and Tips’.

Mr Gandhi worked as a GIS specialist for Google for 13 years and is currently a GIS trainer in India with a focus on open-source technologies.

His QGIS tutorials at qgistutorials.com are used at universities worldwide and have been translated into more than 10 languages.

Tutorials range from basic, intermediate and advanced GIS operations, and also cover network analysis, Python scripting and Web mapping.

Personally, I have run through the Getting Started With Python Programming (QGIS3) and found the tutorial has worked.
