SeeVogh Trouble Shooting

The following guide should provide assistance to those having trouble getting SeeVogh to work.

Issue - SeeVogh does not start on Mac OS X 10.8.4 (Mavericks) or higher.

Solution - Apple has modified its rules on whether to allow a Java Web Start application, such as SeeVogh, to run. This change applies from version 10.8.4 of Mac OS onward. Information on how to change the security settings to allow SeeVogh to work can be found at http://seevogh.com/tech/support/faq/macos-webstop.html

Alternatively, you can use the SeeVogh's stand-alone application (click on the link for more information) – which makes it a lot simpler to join a SeeVogh meeting.

Issue - I am trying to connect - but the application launcher gets stuck on "74%" and doesn't seem to proceed from there.

Solution - This is generally representative of a networking - most likely a firewall - issue. Some things to try are:

  • The SeeVogh test program - found here. This program should identify any possible issues.
  • If the issue is firewall related, it is recommended to contact your network administrators for advice and to ensure ports 36015 UDP and TCP IN/OUT are open.
  • Additionally, try checking your "Java Proxy Settings". See here for more details

Issue - SeeVogh appears to be stuck "downloading" the software.

Solution - Generally speaking, this issue is caused by a corrupted download, or by local web caching engines.
