for the use of HPC infrastructure, including Barrine
High performance computing facilities are located at each of the QCIF member partners. If you are a staff member or student at QUT, Griffith, JCU, CQU, or USQ, please contact your local HPC/eResearch department initially:
HPC@QUT HPC@Griffith HPC@JCU HPC@CQU HPC@USQ
The main QCIF HPC facility (Barrine) is located at UQ. It is also available to staff and research students at the QCIF member universities.
This is how you get an account on Barrine:
| You are a researcher with a UQ login and email: | You are a researcher without a UQ login and email |

The Barrine facility website provides details about how to use the HPC facility.
After you have obtained an HPC account you are free to use and experiment with the facility.
It is important that the HPC usage is shared fairly, so if you become a significant user, we will contact you and request that you provide a project proposal. Each user, however, needs to set up an account first.
