Bio Portal
The Bioportal is a web-based interface that allows users to access a range of products that are of interest to the bioinformatics community.
Users can:
- access bioinformatics databases and a number complex simulation algorithms
- execute bio-informatics software applications
- execute a sequence of bio-informatics programs
- display results from the computations
- monitor the status of their jobs on the high performance computing systems
The Bioportal project was part of a two year collaboration between researchers in the UK, Queensland, Victoria and Western Australia. The pilot project was funded by QPSF and was instrumental in attracting a further $320,000 in DEST funding (Innovation Access Programme – International Science and Technology {IAP-IST}).
